Homework 28/09/07

by faulknerfile @ 2007-09-28 - 10:25:14

This week's homework is all about instructions and learning your tables.
How many different types of instructions can you think of?
Can you find some examples or can you draw or write some of your own.
There were lots of ideas given in class today.
It was great to see that you all know what tables you are trying to learn.
How many ways can you find to write them down?

We were really impressed with the standard of the homework given in this week. Well done to everybody!!

Church Visit

by faulknerfile @ 2007-09-27 - 09:47:18

Welcome to the first blog entry of the new school year.
Last week all of year 5 visited Blaby Church. The Rector, Grenville, told us all about the history of the church and how it changed and grew over the years. He showed us round and told us what all the different objects were forsept 07 017

Then we all had time to look around the church. Everybody enjoyed looking at the stained glass windows. Finally we went outside and looked at the graveyard.

When we got back to school we wrote about the things we had learned and wrote thank you letters to Grenville for giving up his time to talk to us.sept 07 021

Travelling Week

by faulknerfile @ 2007-03-29 - 08:17:32

Our design and technology project was to make a four wheeled vehicle.
It had to look as good as possible and travel in a straight line.

We had to measure very carefully and use a set square to make sure that everything fitted together properly

Sponsored Event

by faulknerfile @ 2007-03-15 - 09:21:22

The coach from Fitness in Schools came in and did a session with every class. The money that we raise will be split between the school and Loros.
We spent 45minutes doing exercises that needed a lot of agility and coordination. Some children found it a lot more difficult than they had expected.MVC-002FMVC-004FMVC-005F
Hopefully we will raise a lot of money

Trees

by faulknerfile @ 2007-03-15 - 09:09:46

We've been given 30 trees from the Woodland Trust and we are planting them as part of our 70th Birthday celebrations.
Tuesday afternoon was a lovely sunny afternoon so we got wellies or old trainers on and went out to plant trees! The hardest part was getting the spade to cut through the turf on the field.MVC-001FMVC-002FMVC-003F

Finding worms caused a lot of excitement and screaming!
10 of the trees we planted were damson trees and so in a few years time there should be lovely blossom at this time of year.
